Dr. Ashley Sewell is a McAlester native. She graduated valedictorian from McAlester High School in 2002. Her next eight years were spent at Oklahoma State University. She achieved a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science with an emphasis in Animal Biotechnology. Dr. Sewell also finished her undergraduate program with an Honors College Degree and Summa Cum Laude honors. Her time at OSU's veterinary college were spent focusing on small animal medicine through elective courses in shelter medicine, small animal neurology, and advanced small animal medicine, to name a few. As an undergraduate, she represented her college as an Agriculture Ambassador and was also very involved in other clubs and organizations. Dr. Sewell served her last three years at OSU as her class representative. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, and American Animal Hospital Association.

 Dr. Ashley Sewell is married to Matthew Sewell, also a McAlester High School graduate. Matthew currently works as the welding instructor for Kiamichi Technology Center in McAlester. Ashley and Matthew have two children -- Rylee and Kassidy -- and three fur-children. They currently care for two rescued cats -- Casper and Boo -- and one adopted pit bull mix -- Cy. Dr. Sewell is the daughter of Randy and Rebecca Nichols. When not busy at the practice, Dr. Sewell enjoys watching OSU sports, golfing with her husband, gardening, playing at the lake, and travelling.
